This product has worked perfectly for at least five years. I am really disappointed that it stopped registering recently. I will review the other similar products but will most likely purchase this one again. It has always been the most accurate thermometer that I have had, digital or manual.

Killer Gadget - Murphygirl100 - Oregon
Have bought this item for several friends and family members. I have never heard any complaints and still use my original version purchased in 2009. Reading the directions is key... have called their customer service number in past on other product and got the answers I needed!

Not a happy camper - Field Medic - United States
I got this item and then found out that it automatically shuts off after about 8 hours. Nowhere in the literature or PDF did it mention this. My needs required that it stay on till I shut it off or the batteries go dead.

When I went to get my money back Oregon Scientific refused even though it was their fault that they didn't bother to mention that in anything they put out.

I filed a complaint with the state Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. The have an F rating at the Better Business Bureau and are already being looked at by the state Attorney General.

Finally they called me and made an offer to refund my money including the shipping. That was the same day that I filed a claim in small claims court. I was able to stop the small claims lawsuit and took the money.

If you deal with them be very careful and expect to have some of the components fail. I have several sensors and the failure rate is about 20%.

Worked OK for a while - Chris Aschenbrener -
Can't recommend this one. Its range is too limiting and not accurate. I never got it to register over 199 degrees while my old fashioned oven thermometer says its 350 (it says it will go to 392). Fine for meat but sometimes like to know other temps such as grease temps and the like.
Also you can't turn off the alarm. I like to know what the temp is and want to set it without having the alarm come on. I could go on and on about the limitations.
NOW
It worked OK for a while then, when I have company coming over.... refuses to work at all. Thought it was the batteries but no luck. Piece of junk now. I'm out to find something more versatile and that works.
