I (literally) fried the last probe for our Taylor P2290 electronic thermometer. Tip: don't let the cord hang over direct heat from a grill.
The replacement works as expected and the metal coated fiber gives me a measure of confidence (though I'm more careful now).

This is a replacement temperature probe for Chaney 00869 and 03166 models. This temperature probe also works with certian Taylor models like the models 1470N (2l AAA battery ver) and 3518N. (Note these only work with the New taylor models 1470N and 3518N with the 2.5mm plug and will not work with the older style 1470 (1 AAA batt ver) & 3518 or on thermometers with the large 3.5mm plug). If uncertian which model you have please ask.

These probes are only 50 cents cheaper than buying a whole new unit! I would buy it at - but no more.

This replacement probe has a much more robust design compared to the original probe that came with our Taylor Thermometer. It works perfectly with the Taylor unit. A great way to save money as opposed to purchasing a complete new digital thermometer.
Better then original - T. Schuler -
I burned the original probe on my Taylor thermometer the first week. This is a better probe then that one. Hope it lasts longer.
