I got a couple of these for the cost of S/H with coupons from Raichlen's books, so I cannot complain about the price. But I opened the lid of the smoker to check the temperature, inserted the thermometer, turned to quickly answer a friend's question about the barn and when I turned back to the grill, the plastic on the thermometer had bubbled and melted all over poor Steven's face. I threw the other one out. Not a good buy.
